Public Workshop #3 Held - September 14, 15, and 16, 2015

The third and final set of Public Workshops for the APG JLUS were held in Harford County at the University Center in Aberdeen, MD on September 14, 2015 at 6:00 PM, in Cecil County at the Cecil College in North East, MD on September 15, 2015 at 6:00 PM, and in Kent County at the Kent County Community Center in Worton, MD on September 16, 2015 at 6:00 PM. Public Workshop #3 was held to provide an opportunity for the public to review and comment on the Public Draft JLUS documents that were released on September 1, 2015. During the workshop, the public were provided a presentation of the JLUS project and status update, a review of key strategy recommendations highlighting some of the 95 unique recommendations from the JLUS, a review of compatibility area maps, and opportunities for continued public involvement including methods for submitting comments (filling out and submitting comment cards at the meetings, or by mail, email, or fax). The workshops included an open discussion where questions from the public regarding specific issues and concerns were addressed. Because of the expansive geography of the project study area, each of the meetings (Harford, Cecil, and Kent Counties) focused on the military impacts and strategy recommendations unique to each region.

The Public Draft JLUS is available for download from the links below on this page and comments can be provided by mail, fax, and email per the instructions in the article alongside the links.

The public comment period for the Public Draft JLUS closes on October 1, 2015. The public is encouraged to review and submit any comments by 11:59 PM on this date. All Public comment will be reviewed and considered for inclusion in the Final Report.
